For a leading broadband operator in Thailand, we undertook the assessment of its technology networks, operations and international benchmarking

The Client Context

• The requirement was to undertake due diligence on the operator’s broadband networks, technology and day-to-day technical operations. In addition we analysed global and local technology telecoms trends as well as benchmarked the network architecture with other broadband telecom operators

Objectives

• Provide an assessment of the operator’s fixed broadband and wireless broadband network

• Identify networks architecture used by other telecom operators

• Evaluate operations, including the network Operations Centre (NOC) and identify risks

What We Did To Help

Assessment (internal and external):

• Prepared a network assessment report covering both their fixed broadband and WIFI broadband network, including:

  • Different types of broadband technology used, comparing across XDSL, FTTx and DOCSIS 3.0

  • Current network operations and network operational challenges, business support systems and customer service

  • Wireless (WIFI) market strategy for the competitive and regulatory landscape of Thailand covering their service offerings, subscriber trends and compositions, expansion strategies and regulatory constraints.

• Provide international benchmarks for both fixed and wireless broadband operators from countries such as Singapore, UK, New Zealand, Bangladesh, India, Spain and South Africa.
